Lions Martial Arts Academy

About Us

Here at Lions Martial Arts Academy we believe that our job is to build the person as a whole and martial arts is our tool. We focus on teaching leadership, respect, responsbiltiy and a sense of compassion for others. We hope to use martial arts as a way to give our students a foundation on which to build a healthy and happy life.

With over 100 years of combined experience, we bring a wide variety of talents to this organization.  We have been students, instructors, master instructors, mentors, competitors, and coaches while managing several successful martial arts organizations around the country.  We have strived to bring the best instuctors in the area under one roof.

We take a traditonal approach to martial arts and instill those core values into our teachings.  But just as important we take a modern approach to self defense.  No school teaches self defense to our level.  Our kids program which we focus on stranger dangers, bullying and our focus on not being a bystander to bullying.        Our adult and teen program we discuss and implement easy to learn techinques that cover one on one attacks, multipe attackers and gun and knife self defense.

We are the only martial arts school who conducts afterschool programs in the Grayslake School District and offers classes through the Grayslake Park District.  We have classes that match everyones needs and budget.  No fancy promotions or long term contracts here at Lions.  Just great instruction by the finest Masters.

Lions Martial Arts Academy has a strong sense of civic responsibility.  We provided a weekly free service to the Lake County Health Department that taught at-risk teens how to make better decisions and gave them some tools to help navigate their way through the different situations that they faced.  We are currently runnin an after school program and a portion goes back to Avon School.  We have actively been involved in food drives for local food pantries and children’s homes.  We have organized gift programs for families in need during the holidays.  We sent care packages to our troops in harm's way, and sent truck loads of supplies to help the tornado victims in Joplin .  Looking forward, we are also going to start a dialog with local school officials to address the growing bullying problems that our children face.
